this house is for a blind pauper and his gyrfalcon. his sense of smell has become his directional sense and the house helps him move about with aromatic materials. additionally, he is oriented around the house and to his environment by (aromatic) connections back to the landscape. His house has no windows, only sieves and filters.

Due to its rarity and the difficulties involved in obtaining it, in falconry the gyrfalcon was generally reserved for kings and nobles. Very seldom was a man of lesser rank seen with a Gyrfalcon on his fist.
