here is a 1st pass on which you can make changes/suggestions!
step one:
in the a.m. wrkr.a sends three items to wrkr.b:
(1x) theme. example: 1-word title of house, 30 word description of
client, 2000 word narrative of event on site, etc.
keep in mind that other worker won’t spend all day reading it.(2x) fodder images.
examples: sketch, site photo, collage, screen shots, web-bric-a-brac, etc.
resolution should be highest available
images should be cropped to 1.33 ratio or 2.35 ratio (let’s discuss?)
the images should have the date or house number as a file name,
for example (house01a.jpg and house01b.jpg’) ((or tif!)
’spam_in_a_can.jpg’ or ‘grunger-adagio_0019IMG.JPG’step two:
using the above fodder, wrkr.b charettes out a scheme during the day,
applying whatever technical means and supplementary fodder (created or
found) phe sees fit.
scheme can be represented w/ dwg, collage, images, forced perspective, etc
wrkr.b returns 2 to 10 images, of same proportions as step 1.
(image can be a ‘board’ w/ multiple ‘views’ of the ‘house’)step three.
wrkr.a reads the images and works out (2? 3?) ‘hardline’ dwgs,
including at least one plan, w/ some indication of scale.
finished drawings should be arranged onto a predetermined artboard/paperspace,
and stored as a tif/eps/pdf/dwg**i know we, or i, always say this, and it never happens,
i think b/c we are too busy w/ other things at the end,
but i would like to make a sincere effort to have a fanzine something
for people to take away from the ‘exhibit’
i think that if our ‘process’ is nailed down in advance of us beginning
the work,
then it will be a simple matter to calculate how many pages would be
needed for the publication
well in advance of the final day or two
so, i would like to see the final dwgs in something easy to port and
plug in to indesign;
then every day/night, i can just take the 6 or 8 images, that are at
predetermined size,
and plug them into the template w/ ease.
this is my hope, anyway.
based on what you’ve already said,
i know you are going to be tempted to labour for hours on end on these pieces,
and will just wait until jan 27th to start handrubbing a month’s worth
of dwgs to then postal mail to me,
but i think that having the pieces complete each night will facilitate
the above goal (fanzine)more to come
what say you?
